As the season draws to a close, the GR Cup media challenge is all but decided, with Nabil Abdool only a few points away from sealing the 2025 championship. He might be far and away ahead in the points standings, having put ears on many seasoned veterans in the series, but the three-way fight in the midfield will seemingly bring the heat.

This three-way fight for 2nd - 4th place will ensure the 2025 season goes down to the wire. Times Live Media's Phuti Mpyane is leading Car Magazines Kyle Kock by a slim margin, and AutoTrader's own Lawrence Minnie is hot on their heels. The closeness of the points chase means that even one mistake from any of the three will relegate them to the back of the chase.

Back to where it all began
The GR Cup challenge heads back to Killarney race circuit in Cape Town, where, at the beginning of the race year, we held our first race in the now second-tier dealer Yaris machines running manual gearboxes. The race lines may be the same, but the dynamics of the automatic machines may just change things up. Then there is the weather to consider, as the notorious coastal air may throw a spanner in the works, as the second Cape Town round usually proves to be wet.
The season has been a learning experience, with highs and lows that test one's mental fortitude. The final away round at Killarney may shake things up or secure placings going into the finals at Zwartkops.
Be sure not to miss out on what is surely going to be a hammer-and-tongs battle for points and placement. Get your tickets today, and be sure to stop by the open pits to say hello to the drivers.
