The Aston Martin DB11 was first announced in 2016 as a replacement to the ageing DB9. Fast-forward a few years, the sports car has gone rogue and has taken a walk to the dark side. A new limited-edition package called the Shadow Edition has been released for the DB11 V8-powered models and is now available to order worldwide, in either Coupe or Volante body-style. However, it will be restricted to 300 units only, so you’ll have to act fast if you want to get your hands on one.

Cosmetic Upgrades
This model receives darkened visual enhancements only, so if you are wanting a power upgrade, it’s best to consider the V12 option or another model.
The new features, offered via the 2021 Shadow Edition models only, include:
- Gloss Black bonnet blades
- 20-inch directional alloy wheels in Gloss Black
- Polished black chrome wings and script badges
- Unique black anodized Shadow Edition sill plaques
- Sports Steering Wheel with Pure Black Alcantara & Obsidian Black Leather
An optional pack that comprehensively matches the Shadow Edition theme offers Gloss Black features on the upper glasshouse. With this package, the body-coloured panels are replaced with black ones and will complete the darkened look even further.
Marek Reichman, Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer at Aston Martin Lagonda, said: “We have carefully selected the Shadow Edition design elements to subtly yet noticeably alter the DB11’s appearance – moving it further towards a more assertive and purposeful GT style.”
Power
The DB11’s V8 engine was left untouched so you can expect the same twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 under the hood. It puts out maximum power of 503 horsepower (375 kilowatts) and peak torque of 696 Newton-meters. The engine is paired to Aston Martin's mid-mounted, eight-speed automatic gearbox.

Price
The Shadow Edition DB11s have a starting price of $222,600 (USD) which is roughly around R3,5 million (at the time of publishing).
