Who is LDV?
LDV boasts a long history dating back to 1896, when it began as a British manufacturer of steam-powered vans. Over the next century, LDV became part of the British Leyland/Rover Group, a major player in the UK automotive industry. In 1993, LDV emerged as a separate company following a management buyout and officially shortened its name.
The 1990s saw LDV establish itself as a successful European commercial vehicle manufacturer, supplying vans to prominent fleets. However, the global recession forced a halt to production in 2008. Thankfully, China's SAIC Motor, a giant automaker, acquired LDV in 2010, reviving the brand and opting to manufacture vehicles in China under their MAXUS subsidiary.
Now, in 2024, LDV arrives in South Africa with the T60 range of bakkies, marking a new chapter for the brand in the South African market.
What's on offer in the LDV T60 range?
There's plenty to get excited about and to choose from, whether you're looking for a rear-wheel-driven workhorse that can also cart kids to school, a luxurious 4WD leisure bakkie that is as fashionable as it is functional, or something in-between.
The grade walk starts off with Elite, then Pro, then MAX Pro, and finally, the range-topping MAX Luxe derivatives.
