Iveco makes a powerful statement at RTX 2025

The Iveco stand at Road Transport Expo (RTX) 2025 drew crowds with its compelling mix of eye-catching design, technical innovation, and a strong message of sustainability. From ultra-clean biomethane-powered trucks to high-tech electric vehicles and a one-off showpiece, Iveco made a clear statement: the future of freight is here, and it’s greener than ever.

“Force of Nature” steals the show

Without doubt, the star attraction on the Iveco stand was the debut of the Iveco S-Way 500 CNG 6x2 “Force of Nature” – a 44-tonne beauty designed to turn heads and change minds. Dressed in striking hand-painted green and black livery, this one-off vehicle combines serious performance with distinctive style.

A green and black semi-truck with bold green accents and "UP TO 95% LESS CO2" text on the lower side panel is parked in an outdoor lot on a sunny day. The design features dynamic green streaks, and the number "500" is visible on the cab. In the background, another semi-truck with an "IVECO" logo on the front and a blue trailer labeled "NATIONAL" can be seen. The lot surface is gravel, and a light industrial building with white roofing is visible under a partly cloudy sky.

Powered by an xCursor 13 engine delivering 500hp, the S-Way CNG is no slouch. With eight onboard CNG tanks integrated neatly into the chassis, the truck boasts a clean-running range of over 500km on renewable biomethane. A true long-haul machine with eco credentials to match, it represents Iveco’s confidence in gas-powered freight as a real-world solution for decarbonisation.

The truck features a futuristic design with bold green accents and the text "500 CNG" prominently displayed on the top front. The license plate reads "X8 CNG," and the vehicle showcases clean, aerodynamic lines. In the background, there are buildings and people observing the display. Cloudy skies complete the scene.

Inside, the cabin offers more than just utility. Plush Alcantara trim, contrasting stitching, bespoke bedding, and smart storage show that it is no ordinary truck. The digital cockpit includes a customisable driver’s display and 10-inch infotainment system, while aerodynamic MirrorCams not only boost visibility but also contribute to up to 1.5% fuel savings through reduced drag.

The design features a green streak pattern along the side. The wheel has a black rim with green highlights. The background reveals a gravel floor, part of a blue sign with a red ant logo and text, and two individuals standing near the truck.

Further efficiency comes courtesy of Predictive Cruise Control, which uses topographical data to manage speed and gear changes. The truck also boasts a high-performance engine brake, said to be 30% more effective than the engine brake in previous models, reducing reliance on the retarder.

The Iveco logo is prominently displayed in bold green letters at the top. Reflections of the sky with clouds are visible on the shiny surface, enhancing the polished appearance.

“It’s more than just a showpiece,” said Mike Cutts, Business Line Director Full Range UK & ROI at Iveco. “This truck embodies everything we stand for: performance, innovation, and sustainability. And it does it with style.”

The ground is covered with white gravel.

All-electric advances: eDaily and S-eWay Rigid debut

On the zero-emissions front, RTX 2025 saw the UK public debut of the Iveco S-eWay Rigid – the company’s first fully electric heavy goods vehicle. Built with flexibility in mind, the S-eWay Rigid features a modular battery system, derived from the smaller eDaily platform, giving operators a scalable approach to range and payload.

On the right-hand side, a large light-blue electric truck, branded "IVECO S-WAY," is prominently displayed with the word "ELECTRIC" on its visor. In the background, there are additional vehicles, including one partially covered under a large black cloth, suggesting an unveiling event. The scene takes place on a gravel surface with a cloudy sky and industrial-style tents or buildings in the background. Some people are in conversation, wearing formal or event-branded attire.

Also on display was the engaging “Box Clever” eDaily, a 7.2-tonne electric LCV featuring an integrated 50kW ePTO. With its four modular batteries, the eDaily is not just an urban delivery solution, but also a mobile power hub capable of supporting a wide variety of applications. For instance, it powered a full VR Truck Racing simulator on the stand, allowing attendees to experience high-speed thrills in an electric Iveco racing truck.

A group of people stands outside on a gravel-covered area, engaging in conversation near two large trucks. On the left, a green IVECO truck, prominently displaying "IVECO 50 1975-2025," dominates the image. Behind it, a blue truck labeled "eDAILY" is visible. The individuals, dressed in casual and semi-casual clothing, appear to be part of an event or gathering, with some wearing lanyards. The setting appears to be outdoors near a display or industrial area, under an overcast sky.

In partnership with the charity, TransAid, the simulator challenge added a fun and meaningful twist, with the person with the fastest lap time during the show winning a grand prize and helping to raise awareness of safer transport in developing countries.

Natural gas lineup expands

Iveco’s experience in natural gas propulsion spans more than two decades, and RTX 2025 proved the brand is not slowing down. Alongside the S-Way 500 CNG was the Eurocargo CNG – a highly adaptable medium-duty truck ideal for urban applications such as waste collection.

A set of stairs leads to an open side door with a canopy, where people are gathered inside and outside the vehicle, engaging in discussions. The background includes another green vehicle and a warehouse-type building under a cloudy sky.

Like its larger sibling, the Eurocargo can run on biomethane, offering up to 95% lower CO₂ emissions than diesel. It also reduces noise pollution, making it particularly suited to early morning city work. Iveco’s blend of practicality and environmental performance clearly resonated with visitors looking to future-proof their fleets.

Full range on show

Completing the Iveco display was the full lineup of its latest models, including the Iveco Daily, X-Way, and flagship S-Way 580. Each vehicle reflected the brand’s commitment to providing tailored solutions across weight classes, drivetrains, and operational needs.

The truck has the word “CNG” displayed prominently on the top front panel, showcasing its eco-friendly compressed natural gas (CNG) fueled design. The vehicle features vibrant, splattered green graphics over its black exterior and "Iveco" branding on the grille. In the background, part of a truck trailer with the logo “Network International” is visible, along with other event structures and attendees.

The breadth of the range on display emphasised Iveco’s “mission-ready” approach: whether operators were looking for clean city vans or heavy-duty long-haul solutions, there was a clear path forward – and a low-emission one at that.

A must-see stand at a record-breaking event

RTX 2025 saw a 34% increase in attendance, welcoming over 14,000 visitors to the NAEC Stoneleigh venue. Among more than 330 exhibitors, Iveco’s stand stood out for its blend of showmanship and substance. From high-performance natural gas power to zero-emission innovation, the brand’s message was clear: the transition to a cleaner future doesn’t mean compromising capability or comfort.

A man in a black shirt is pulling the cover on the right side, while another man is standing nearby on the left. In the background, there's another truck with "Network International" signage, as well as a building with Iveco branding and people gathered around. The event setting is on a gravel surface with a bright, cloudy sky overhead.

As part of our ongoing RTX 2025 coverage, we kicked off this series last week with a deep dive into DAF’s stand. Up next? We profile Volvo’s massive stand. Stay tuned!
