5 Things you need to know about the New Holland TK4 Crawler
New Holland has over 85 years of experience in the crawler segment and their latest TK4 model benefits from that heritage. New Holland will be introducing four new models which feature Tier 4A compliant engines. These will offer farmers and contractors exceptional stability, comfort and performance as well as new and enhanced power levels and efficient fuel usage.
What is a Crawler?
These are small tractors that make use of tracks instead of wheels. This gives them the ability to function effectively in tight spaces such as vineyards and orchards which are usually found on steep inclines. They are easy to drive and offer various forms of usability. Crawlers are also powerful, thus can handle the needs of farmers and operators alike. The TK4 series has been engineered to offer a functional design as well as boost stability and traction, with the utmost comfort and efficiency to help producers tackle the most difficult conditions.
The latest engine technology
The TK4 range is now fitted with F5C 3.4-litre Common Rail engines, developed by FPT Industrial. The engines are capable of developing between 55kW and 73kW and up to 420Nm of torque. Maximum power is now delivered continuously from 1900 to 2300rpm. Fuel consumption has also been improved thanks to the new electronic engine management system.
Stronger front axle
The front axle casting of the new TK4 crawlers has been designed to be heavier and stronger to allow the application of up to 500kg of front load. The increased front axle casting capacity means the new TK4 machines can easily work with even bigger and heavier front implements.
Cabin choice
The TK4 can be had with either an open cabin with a roll-bar or as a closed cabin. A new optional pneumatic seat and a platform specially designed to protect the driver from heat, noise and vibration also features, as does a new firewall concept which ensures that the flow of hot air and dust from the engine compartment does not reach the operator platform.
Various options available
New Holland is offering the latest TK4 with a host of options which have been designed and selected to make operation more effective. These include:
- Steering-O-Matic Plus, a unique single control lever to steer, drive and stop the tractor.
- Interchangeable rubber and steel tracks on TK4.80F (available with SmartTrax rubber tracks from the factory only) and TK4.100M
- Lift-O-Matic hydraulic lift control system
- Optional factory cab on Open Field models
Trusted support
Furthermore, the new TK4 series is complimented by New Holland’s full line of equipment which has been designed for vineyards and orchards. These tools help the efficiency of work and are best suited for use with the TK4 model.
