Top 5 accessories for your Kia Sorento
Top 5 accessories for your Kia Sorento
By Ané Theron
The Sorento is a reliable and spacious SUV from Korean carmaker Kia, and has been awarded multiple accolades locally and internationally. If you're keen on buying a Sorento, take a look at these five available extras that will simplify your life.
We visited the Kia website and clicked on the Sorento to start building our car. Then, we selected the entry-level 2WD 2.2D 8AT 7SEATER LX as our example, which retails for R596 995 at present. We also selected the Gravity Blue paint job, which doesn't cost extra. I think it looks rather cool in this unusual shade. (Also check out used and new Sorentos in the AutoTrader sales section.)
But accessories go much further than just alloy wheels and paint jobs. Other available extras include:
1. Fixed tow bar, R5600: Towing that caravan or boat to the dam won't happen without this very important piece of equipment.
2. Nudge bar, R8000: Nothing makes an SUV look quite as as imposing as a nudge bar. Also a great accessory if you constantly misjudge how close your car is to objects in front of it... (Read: Top 3 things you need to know about the Kia Sorento.)
3. Integrated side steps, R7 650: If short-legged folk make up part of your entourage, these subtle side steps will make getting into (and out of) the Sorento a whole lot easier.
4. Reverse Camera Mirror, R4600: Because having fender-benders repaired can eat into your spending money! Parking sensors can be had from R1691.00, however. (Read: Top 3 safety features on a Kia Sorento.)
5. Integrated roof racks, R4600: Add some additional practicality and outdoorsy vibes to your Sorento. Or, if you're a bit of a mountain biker, the 2 Bike Carrier will cost you R 1482,00. Or go the whole hog and get the 400-litre roof box as well. It will set you back R8 331.50.
*Bear in mind that the fitment of accessories costs extra.
