The enhanced KIA Sorento has been thoroughly tested in countless crash simulations and actual collision tests and features intelligent active-safety technology and substantial passive-safety enhancements to protect people.

 

1. 6-airbag SRS system

KIA's protection system in the Sorento includes front airbags for the driver and front-seat passenger, two airbags on the sides and two curtain airbags running the length of the cabin. This helps to protect occupants and potentially reduce injuries in the event of a collision.

 

2. Driver Assist systems

Hill-start Assist Control (HAC)

The HAC system prevents the vehicle from rolling backwards when at a standstill and/or on an incline by gently applying the brakes for up to two seconds while you move your foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator.

 

Vehicle Stability Management (VSM)

This system enhances the directional stability of the vehicle by automatically controlling MDPS (Motor Driven Power Steering) and brakes on each wheel. In case of braking on a non-homogeneous surface, it helps to stabilise the vehicle and maintain the vehicle’s path.

 

3. Construction

The Sorento uses more than 53% of Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) in its construction. This exceptional steel reinforces the front, rear and sides, as well as high-stress points throughout the body.
