Nissan became well known for making performance sports cars in the 90's and early 2000's but as time has progressed they've turned to volume seller entry level passenger vehicles. The Almera is the working man's sedan and will keep on going and going as long as its regular maintenance is kept up.

You can save yourself some money and take on the job of replacing the vehicles' battery yourself. It is a relatively straightforward task that requires minimal tools, here's how it's done.

You will need:

Replacement battery of correct amperage and size
10mm socket + driver or wrench

Let's get it done

1. Open the bonnet

2. Locate the battery

3. Use the 10mm to remove the negative (-) terminal

4. Use the 10mm to remove the positive (+) terminal

5. Use the 10mm to remove the hold down bracket

6. Exchange battery (Disconnecting the battery without a memory saver will erase all settings in the onboard computer)

7. Assemble in reverse order
