Very few of us have had the opportunity to see a Nissan Leaf up close, let alone drive one. The Leaf was only on sale in South Africa for a very brief period of time but that doesn't mean that there aren't any on our roads. LightstoneAuto's December 2019 survey revealed that there were nearly 100 Nissan Leafs registered on our roads. Needless to say, they only come up for sale once in a blue moon.

If you have one of these early models or you have a lead on one, you may be looking at what can be done to refresh and revitalise this ageing model ahead of the touted release of the 2nd-generation Leaf in 2022. We scoured the net to find what is out there for the first-gen model. Here's what we found.
1. Rear Bumper Protector
This simple addition to the top edge of the rear bumper will ensure that loading and unloading the boot of your Nissan Leaf doesn't result in unsightly scratches and scuffs. Look after the paintwork and your investment with this simple add-on.
2. Kick Plates
In the same way that you're protecting the rear bumper from scratches, you can also protect the side sills of the Leaf with a set of kick plates. These will safeguard the paintwork from scratches and marks caused by climbing in and out of the vehicle.
3. Mud Flaps
You're looking after the paintwork, so you may as well go the distance and care for the exterior paintwork as well. This set of mud flaps for the Leaf will prevent stones from being kicked up against the bodywork which could lead to chips, scratches and premature corrosion.
4. Mats
Genuine Nissan floor mats will care for and protect your interior carpet. High heels and hard-soled shoes can cause the carpet to wear over time. Ensure that your Leaf's carpets don't wear prematurely by fitting a set of rugged and stylish floor mats.
5. Cargo Organiser
Make the most of the generous space under the boot floor by fitting this cargo organiser that features several compartments for various size items. No longer will they roll around or shift during transport.
