With so much new tech installed that needs a constant supply of 12v solid power, a healthy battery is needed to keep things running smoothly and if you find that some of your gadgetry no longer works efficiently, it may be time for a new power source. Changing out the battery yourself will allow you to flex your DIY muscle and is relatively straightforward and only requires simple tools, and we can show you how it's done.

You will need:

  • 10mm socket + extension and driver

 

Let's get it done

 

1. Open the bonnet

2. Locate the battery

3. Use 10mm to undo the negative terminal

4. Use 10mm to undo and remove the positive terminal

5. Use 10mm to remove the battery hold down bracket

6. Slide the battery out and replace

 

17. Assemble in reverse order

 

Pro-tip: Use a battery saver to prevent loss of infotainment presets etc.
