The Jeep Patriot first landed in South Africa in 2007 and featured the signature seven-slot grille up front as well as the more squared design style. However, while the Jeep Compass has gone on to become a popular model for the brand, the Patriot didn't do as well. Jeep noticed and created the Renegade which appeals more to customers in that segment.
Whether you bought a new or used Jeep Patriot model, you will know that you are responsible for small maintenance duties such as checking the tyre pressure, topping up the oil and change the wiper blades when they no longer perform well. To assist you on the latter, we have created a quick step-by-step guide to show you how to replace the wiper blades on your Jeep Patriot.

Procedure
Step 1: Park your vehicle in a well-lit area that offers easy access to the windscreen from the side of the vehicle.
Step 2: Starting on the driver side, lift the wiper blade off the windscreen and focus on the base of the blade.
Step 3: Locate the small release clip at the base and while pressing down, slide the blade towards the base of the wiper arm.
Step 4: Align the U-shaped cavity in the base of the new blade with the wiper arm and slide it in until you hear a click. Leave the blade in its verticle position for now.
Step 5: You can now move to the passenger side of the vehicle and repeat the process.
Step 6: Once both blades have been replaced, use a soft cloth with water and soap if needed, to clean away any dust or debris that is on the surface of the windscreen.
Step 7: You can now lower the blades down onto the windscreen and test the system.
Step 8: You can now move to the rear screen and lift the blade away from the glass. Note the wiper arm is under constant tension and will have to be held away from the screen.
Step 9: Pressing on the release clip at the base of the wiper blade, slide the old blade out. If you need to let go of the wiper arm, place a cloth between the wiper arm and the screen to prevent scratches.
Step 10: Align the U-shaped cavity in the base of the new blade with the wiper arm and slide it in until you hear a click.
Step 11: Use a soft cloth with water and soap if needed, to clean away any dust or debris that is on the surface of the rear windscreen.
