How often should a Chery Tiggo 8 Pro be serviced?

Many South African consumers may be unaware that the latest entrant into our local car market, Chery, is in fact not first and foremost a vehicle manufacturer, but rather an engine supplier. They are one of the leading power unit suppliers to the Chinese vehicle market and as such, they have a deep understanding of how to make bulletproof engines.

This allows Chery to offer one of the longest warranties available on a vehicle in South Africa. Chery SA posits a warranty time of 5 years for a vehicle and 10 years for an engine for the 1st owner and a warranty distance of 150 000km for the vehicle or 1 000 000km for the engine for the 1st owner. That speaks to their confidence in the engineering of the engine unit but that can only be guaranteed if the owners keep to the maintenance schedule as laid by Chery. Be on time

Chery currently offers two engine options in the 8 Pro range, a 1.6 turbo petrol and 2.0 turbo petrol with both having slightly different service plan distances but maintaining the same service interval.

1.6 GDi - 5 year / 60 000km service plan with 15 000km interval.

2.0 GDi - 7 year / 90 000km service but retains 15 000km interval

This speaks volumes about their confidence in the engineering that has gone into these engines and should surely give the everyday motorists in SA some peace of mind when it comes to the Chinese brand.
