5 Aston Martin Virage accessories you didn’t know you needed.
With so few Aston Martin Virage models to leave the production line, you certainly are lucky to own one. But ever wondered how you could even further bolster your ownership experience? Here are five accessories you didn't know you needed.
In 2011, Aston Martin unveiled the Virage and Virage Volante (convertible) models. Based on the DB9 platform, the Virage was meant to slot in between the DB9 and the performance-oriented DBS models. The Virage offered updated styling taking inspiration from the DBS but retaining the versatility of the DB9. However, this was a very small gap to fill and Aston Martin decided to end production after 18-moths and 1001 units completed.
While the exterior and interior exemplify luxury and elegance, don't for one second think it is slow. Under the bonnet feature a 5.9-litre, V12 petrol motor coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The combination is capable of 366 kW and 570 Nm of torque and will propel the British sports car to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and on to a top speed of 300 km/h. While it might seem you have everything you need in this package, here are a few accessories to make it even better.
1. Luggage set
While the Virage will be comfortable on a race track, it is also capable of a calm comfortable drive to the beach house. But you will need a luggage set to match the style of your grand tourer. The luggage set is designed by Aston Martin and won't just look good whether you choose it in black nubuck leather or cream truffle leather but also helps maximise the boot space in your Virage.
The set consists of a large holdall, small holdall, garment bag and beauty case and is hand made by craftsmen in the Aston Martin factory. If the variety of standard colours and leather types are not enough, you can even get custom made sets made by the Q division at Aston Martin.
2. Boot mats
What good is a handmade luggage set if it is just going to scuff in the boot? Well, why not consider this perfectly fitted boot mat. Not only does it protect your luggage but also the original boot liner, which could be in your favour down the line if you want to sell the vehicle. The boot mat is made with black material and features the Aston Martin logo.
3. Centre caps
Want to add a little more style to your wheels? Aston Martin offer customers carbon fibre centre caps. These caps are an exclusive accessory from the Q division at Aston Martin and will give your Virage a more sporty appearance on the exterior. Even if you decide against fitting them to your vehicle, this accessory comes in an Obsidian Black leather and Alcantara lined presentation case which could look just great in between all of your other memorabilia.
4. Locking wheel nuts
Worried that someone might just steal your wheels? These Aston Martin specific locking wheel nuts will fit perfectly on your Virage. You need only to replace one of the standard nuts on each wheel with one of these to make your wheels more secure.
5. Tyre cushions
Now that you know you own quite a rare Aston Martin, chances are that you might save it for special occasions or for when the weather is just perfect for a Sunday morning drive. However, storing your vehicle for elongated periods of time could result in flat spots forming at the base of your tyre as they are not rotating. To mitigate this, Aston Martin has created tyre cushions which are made from a high-density foam that evenly distributes the weight over a larger surface and reducing the chance of flat spots forming.
