Petrol Engines
V8 Supercharged Petrol
With 386kW and 625Nm of torque, the 5.0-litre V8 Supercharged Petrol engine provides top-of-the-range performance for ultimate refinement and driver engagement.

- The engine has been optimized around a state-of-the-art engine management system. This features high-pressure direct injection with a centrally mounted, multi-hole, spray-guided injection system.
- Fitted with a sixth-generation Twin Vortex System (TVS) supercharger, the engine offers superior thermodynamic efficiency and extremely refined noise levels. The supercharger fully utilizes the additional capacity of the 5.0-litre engine, generating a torque profile that delivers outstanding levels of power in a linear and engaging manner.

V8 Supercharged 416kW
This 416kW engine is exclusive to the SVAutobiography Dynamic. The 5.0-litre V8 Supercharged Petrol engine has been updated to deliver 416kW and 700Nm of torque. This is enabled by a recalibration of the engine and its management system to increase maximum available boost pressure. Maximum torque is delivered at 6,000-6,500rpm.
Diesel Engines
TDV6
The Turbocharged Diesel engine produces 190kW and 600Nm of torque and is ideal for higher power and torque demand usage with exceptional driveability.
- The innovative parallel sequential twin turbochargers – a concept pioneered by Jaguar Land Rover – feature a ceramic ball bearing on the primary turbo to reduce friction for maximum throttle response.
- A switchable coolant pump and two-stage oil pump are used for optimal thermal energy management, improving operating efficiency.
- The piezo common rail fuel injection system enables precise control of the amount of fuel injected, creating a uniform mixture for more efficient combustion and less emissions.
- The engine utilizes these technologies to offer premium refinement and performance.
SDV8
The 4.4-litre V8 Twin Turbocharged Diesel offers top-of-the-range performance, with 249kW and a staggering 740Nm of torque between 1,750-2,250rpm.
- Helical and tangential inlet ports for low-speed swirl and high gas flow, with combustion chambers optimized for emissions performance.
- 2000 bar common-rail fuel injection with Gen 3 Piezo injectors.
- Compounded Graphite Iron block with optimized thin wall section and aluminium alloy heads.
- Twin overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder.

Which engine is right for you?
Lots of people struggle with this. But the truth is that it really depends on what your priorities are and the type of driving you do. Diesel engines are more powerful than petrol engines. They have higher torque which is good for towing and also give a smoother drive. Not to mention, they’re more fuel-efficient than petrol, particularly out of town on long journeys.
On the other hand, the harshness, noise, and vibrations in diesel-driven cars are higher than that of a petrol-driven car. Also, the maintenance cost of diesel cars is greater. Petrol cars are generally quieter and cheaper to run on shorter journeys. Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) meanwhile provide all-electric performance at lower speeds and traditional combustion performance on longer journeys.
