The Mercedes-Benz V-Class is one that can be a little confusing at first. V-Class, Vito, and Viano have all been used as model names for the V-Class. They were used as descriptors for the intended purpose and trim level with the Vito taking on a more commercial role, while the Viano and V-Class insinuated that the models were more luxurious and intended to move people in the lap of luxury.

The Viano nameplate was introduced in 2004 with the launch of the second generation V-Class and then dropped again just over ten years later when the third generation was released. The second generation received an update and facelift in late 2010 for the 2011 model year. We'll be working with these models as a baseline to see which variant has depreciated the most since then.
Four variants with three different engines were offered in 2010, two diesel-powered with varying displacements and power outputs and the single petrol V6. Our study below takes the average market price for the respective models and doesn't factor in variables such as condition, mileage, nor service history. All of this will play a part in what you will pay and how much your Viano may be worth. As an additional factor, we're compensating for inflation over the last 11 years and give you an indicated retail price if these models were to be sold today.

Verdict
The biggest loser, in this case, is the petrol-powered V6 Viano 3.5V6 Ambiente. The diesel models hold their value considerably better with the best value retained by the higher-spec Ambient model with the 3.0 turbodiesel engine.
