Mercedes-AMG GT63 S E Performance top speed
The Mercedes-AMG is by no means a small car and will comfortably accommodate four occupants. The kerb weight is 2 380 kg, which is also not light. However, that mighty hybridised V8 upfront promises a top speed of 316 km/h in 9th gear, which is still 1 km/h faster than the claimed top speed of the new Porsche Panamera turbo e-hybrid.
Mercedes-AMG GT63 S E Performance engine performance and 0-100 km/h time
Under the bonnet of the GT63 S E Performance, you will find a 4.0-litre, turbocharged, V8 petrol engine coupled to a 9-speed automatic transmission, which sends 620 kW and 1470 Nm of torque to all four wheels. Note that the engine alone will produce 470 kW and 900 Nm. However, it is bolstered by a hybrid electric system, which, for a few seconds, will unleash the staggering performance figures above.
With all systems engaged, Mercedes-AMG claims a 0-100 km/h sprint time of just 2.9 seconds. To put that into context, that is the same time claimed by Ferrari for the lighter and smaller 296 GTB.
