Our 2024 Compact Hatch winner is...
The budget-friendly hatchback segment is highly contested in South Africa, meaning that consumers have a lot of choices. Even more affordable options exist, such as the Suzuki S-Presso, Celerio, Kwid and Toyota Vitz. But if we bring our attention back to the selection at hand, we have to give credit where it's due.
In this writer's opinion, at the time of writing this article, our 2024 Compact Hatch winner is the Hyundai Grand i10 and for good reason. The compact Korean hatch offers the largest luggage compartment in this comparison, and the standard safety features and tech are competitive in its segment. We cannot ignore that 7-year / 200 000km drivetrain warranty nor argue against its pricing as it is the most affordable in this comparison.
