The Prius nameplate isn't only the first vehicle from the Japanese automaker to be associated with a hybrid powertrain but also the first mass-produced hybrid model in the world. Currently, the Prius is in its fourth generation, which as recently as 2021 received a mild update.
At the time of writing this article, there is only one derivative on offer with only one power- and drivetrain combination. Under the bonnet, it features a 1.8-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine as well as an electric motor which together produce 90 kW and 142 Nm of torque. This results in a claimed average fuel consumption return of 3.7 L / 100 km.
