On a recent AutoTrader video project, we had the pleasure of having a Land Rover Range Rover Sport P510e First Edition as a support and camera vehicle. And as we spent four days with that particular car there were quite a few features and characteristics that really impressed and in this article, we would like to share some of those highlights with you.

But remember that before you start your search for new or used Land Rover Range Rover Sport models on AutoTrader, you can sell your current car quickly and easily with our Instant Offer tool here.

1. Comfort

When it comes to comfort, the Land Rover Range Rover most definitely rates high. Customers can expect soft leather upholstery and ergonomic seats at the front and rear of the model. Both the front and rear occupants benefit from heating in the seats as standard specification and ventilation is optionally available. Also available in the higher specified First Edition trim we had on the trip is a massaging function for the front seats.

After covering around 3 000 km over four days, we can say that the noise, vibrations and harshness levels are at the minimum and occupants suffer minimum fatigue even over longer times spent inside the vehicle.

2. Space

The Land Rover Range Rover Sport measures 4 946 mm long, 1 820 mm tall and 2 209 mm wide including the mirrors. Thus, it is not what you would describe as compact, quite the opposite, but these dimensions also mean that customers get a spacious interior. Both the front and rear occupants get ample leg, head and shoulder room while retaining 647 litres of boot space.

However, if you need to transport a full-sized 245/50 R20 spare wheel, travel luggage and a large camera equipment case as we did, you can fold down the rear seats to gain access to 1 491-litres of luggage space at the rear of the cabin.

3. Safety

Potential customers can expect no less than six airbags to feature on the new Land Rover Range Rover Sport, however, that is the tip of the spear in terms of safety features. The British SUV offers the following safety assist systems to help the driver during travel: Lane and Emergency Lane Keep Assist, 3D Surround Camera and ClearSight Ground View, Rear Collision Monitor with Occupant Protection Assist, Pre-emptive suspension, Driver Condition Response, Adaptive Cruise Control and Steering Assist and Park Assist.

The culmination of these safety features and driver assist systems as well as the construction materials used on the Land Rover Range Rover Sport resulted in the model scoring a full five stars in the Euro N-CAP Safety test. The normal Range Rover scored 87 per cent for Child Occupant Protection and 72 per cent for Vulnerable Road Users. But the Range Rover Sport covered in this article achieved 85 per cent for Adult Occupant Protection and 82 per cent for Safety Assist.

4. Powertrains

There are a variety of powertrains available throughout the range. This includes the D350, a 3.0-litre, inline-6, turbocharged, diesel motor which produces 258 kW and 700 Nm of torque and the P400, a 3.0-litre, inline-6, turbocharged, petrol engine that delivers 294 kW and 550 Nm of torque.

As for plugin hybrid offerings, Land Rover Range Rover offers the P460e which utilizes a combination of a 3.0-litre, inline-6, turbocharged, petrol engine and an electric motor to provide 338 kW and 550 Nm of torque and an electric-only range of between 109-125km. The Land Rover Range Rover Sport P510e First Edition also combines the 3.0-litre, inline-6, turbocharged, petrol engine and a 105 kW electric motor, however, delivers a total of 375 kW and 700 Nm of torque.

The current flagship offering, the Land Rover Range Rover Sport P635 SV Edition One, uses a 4.4-litre, turbocharged, V8 petrol engine to produce 467 kW and 750 Nm of torque.

5. Price

The entire Land Rover Range Rover Sport range is sold with a 5-year / 100 000 km warranty as well as a 5-year / 100 000 km maintenance plan.
