Our Top 5 differences between the new and the old Mahindra Scorpio
- Engine upgrade. The Scorpio S10 model was launched in 2016 with a rather modestly-powered version of Mahindra’s mHawk turbocharged diesel engine. This produced 88 kW and 280 Nm of torque between 1 800 rpm and 2 800 rpm. The new mHawk turbo diesel in the S11 is a common-rail unit that raises power significantly to 103 kW, and torque to 320 Nm. The torque peak is also accessed earlier in the rev-range, between 1 500 rpm and 2 800 rpm.

- Pricing. When the Mahindra Scorpio 7-seater was introduced in August 2016, pricing was R283 995 for the 4X2 model and R299 995 for the 4X4. Mahindra has been able to contain this pricing very well over the last three and a half years.
