By Farzana Chaumoo
The Nissan NP200 features a host of passive safety systems to protect occupants.
1. Safely Grounded
Crumple zones in the Nissan NP200 are engineered around impact resistance while the engine compartment is designed to stack up in frontal impact collisions.
The restraint system includes 3-point height adjustable seat belts; impact absorbent material underfoot in the dashboard and the doors provide hip and limb protection.
2. Brakes
The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) prevents the wheels from locking. The front brake system uses ventilated discs while the rear is fitted with a drum brake.
3. Airbags
A driver’s airbag and a passenger airbag with an inhibition switch come standard on all models across the range.
4. Other
Other safety features fitted as standard to all Nissan NP200 models include:
- Height adjustable headrests
- Collapsible safety steering column
- Anti-theft electronic encoded safety system, activated by a transponder
- Nissan DataDot anti-theft identification system
Remote central locking and a roll bar cab protector feature standard on two diesel models only.
