1.Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo breaks cover

There’s a more rugged version of Porsche’s electric vehicle and it is called the Taycan Cross Turismo, which should arrive locally in the coming months. Sean Nurse takes us through the details of the newcomer in this article. “ Since the Cross Turismo is intended as a lifestyle vehicle with some off-road driving added in, it rides 20mm higher than a standard Taycan, or 30mm higher when the new ‘Gravel’ mode is selected. The model also features more protective bodywork, with winglets that are said to deflect debris. Porsche has also announced a bespoke bicycle rack and roof box as options for the Cross Turismo, adding to the lifestyle appeal of the product and further differentiating it from the rest of the Taycan range” he said.

2.The thing about the first electric Porsche is…it’s just so NORMAL!

Veteran motoring journalist Stuart Johnson provides his expert opinion on one of the fastest electric vehicles on the planet, the Porsche Taycan Turbo S. He was rather taken by this high-performance electric vehicle.

“There is barely any detectable sense of this car being heavy. It responds to drive inputs like any other Porsche, which means it is crisp and controllable, and delivers a tactile connection to the road through that beautifully-padded steering wheel.  Porsche’s suspension engineers should take a bow!” he said.

3.Totally Taycan: Porsche’s first all-electric sportscar driven in SA

Sean Nurse also had the privilege of experiencing the Taycan in Turbo S guise at the national media launch where he recounts the sensation of over 1 000Nm of torque. “This allows the Taycan Turbo S to sprint to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and 200 km/h in 9.8 seconds. To try and express what this feels like is difficult, but to put it into perspective, during the first few meters of acceleration, this car exerts 1.2 g of accelerative forces, more than skydiver experiences during a free-fall.” Sean exclaimed.
