BMW M6 overview
The BMW M6 sits above the mighty BMW M5 in that it offers a bit more in terms of exclusivity and style. Unfortunately, the BMW M6 has been discontinued; the place is now occupied by the BMW M8, thus, when referring to the vehicle in question we will be referring to the previous, fourth-generation F13 model. The one that featured one of the most powerful motors that BMW ever created – a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 that develops 412kW and 680Nm of torque.

1. The facelift model
The first F13 BMW M6 was launched in 2013 and it featured an eye-catching design that managed to blend beauty as well as sportiness into one package. The car also offered a luxurious interior filled with quality materials and the latest technology. In 2015 BMW gave the M6 a subtle makeover which saw changes made to the headlights, tail lights, infotainment system as well as a host of new exterior trim options such as new wheels were added to the options sheet. 2. The Competition Pack
In 2015 with the introduction of the facelift BMW M6 the Bavarian automaker also introduced the M6 Competition Pack. This model saw a bump in power to around 423kW, upgraded suspension and more importantly upgraded brakes in the form of carbon ceramics which were an option only available on the Competition Pack. These brakes can take more abuse and more heat than regular steel options. The Competition Pack also came with bespoke rims and black gloss accents on the exterior.

3. The more options the better
The beauty about buying a car on the used market is that you can hunt for one that has all the right options. The BMW M6 came with a host of standard features being a luxury flagship offering however BMW still had a lengthy options sheet to consider. Some items one should look for are Heads-Up Display which projects driver information on to the windscreen just below your field of vision. Carbon-fibre interior trim because it adds an extra level of sportiness to the overall luxurious feel of the interior. Other convenient items that should be looked for are lane-keep assist where the car uses cameras and sensors to stay within the lane on the road as well as active cruise control which enables the car to automatically maintain a set speed while monitoring forward traffic. Last, but not least one should consider the 360-degree camera option as this will help prevent any unwanted bumps when getting in and out of parking spaces or a fast-food drive-thru.
