The Mercedes-Benz A-Class is the smallest offering from the German firm and is listed as a subcompact executive car. Initially, the A-Class was met with a lot of criticism largely due to its front-wheel-drive layout and design. Many argued that it was diluting the prestigious nature of the brand and costing owners of higher-end models market value in their cars.
This proved to not be true as it opened up the gates to a younger market and exposed the brand to a wider audience who had previously not considered the brand.
