Volkswagen Amarok spaciousness
The Volkswagen Amarok has significantly grown in size, and the benefits of the larger dimensions translate into more spaciousness in the interior too. From bumper to bumper the Volkswagen Amarok has seen a 96mm increase in length while the wheelbase has been extended by 173mm.
While the front occupants see a 28mm increase in ride height, the rear occupants sit 37mm higher in the new Amarok in comparison to the outgoing model. There is also a 45mm increase between the front and rear occupant seats, with the rear seats reclining more than the units in the outgoing unit.
Verdict
All-in-all, while the increase in interior dimensions seems marginal on paper, the result is a much more spacious environment for both front and rear occupants. Sean Nurse reported in his first driving impression which can be found here, that the newcomer is much more spacious and comfortable at the rear of the cabin.
