But like any discerning car buyer, you might be wondering about the newcomer's reliability; in this article, we take a closer look and explain which warranties you get included in the purchase price.

GWM Tank 300 reliability

You might remember that we managed to get our hands on the GWM Tank 300 in Australia in January 2023; check out the video here; the Chinese model was only officially introduced locally in February of 2024. Thus, it is too early to comment on the reliability of the model in South Africa at this time.

What we can, however, look at is the included warranty, should anything go wrong. For the petrol-powered units, GWM includes a 7-year / 200 000km warranty. This warranty contract protects you against the costs of failures due to manufacturing defects, defective materials and workmanship under normal operation.

The hybrid derivative also benefits from this extensive warranty; however, it also includes an 8-year / 150 000km warranty for the hybrid battery. Note that these warranties will only remain valid if the owner takes the vehicle in for servicing or inspection every 15 000km or every 12 months, whichever occurs first.

Be sure to consult your local GWM dealer for more details regarding the warranties as well as options to extend the included 5-year / 75 000km service plan.
