The GWM Tank 300 2.0T is available in both Super Luxury and Ultra Luxury trims, both being powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine; this unit produces 162 kW and 380 Nm torque and is said to return a combined cycle fuel consumption of 9.5 l/100km.

This is followed up by the GWM Tank 300 HEV, which is only available in Super Luxury trim. This model is also powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine but benefits from hybrid assistance. The self-charging hybrid system adds extra power to the petrol engine for a total output of 255 kW and 648 Nm torque.

All trims employ the assistance of an automatic gearbox and send power to all four wheels through the intelligent 4x4 system, which features various drive modes for various terrains and conditions. The HEV includes a low-range option for its full-time all-wheel-drive system.
