There is plenty to love about the new Nissan Qashqai, that's why it also makes my list of 5 Great new family cars to consider. It's not cheap, however, so let's take a look how much one will cost you every month, based on a variety of variables. (Read our 2022 launch report on the Nissan Qashqai here.)
To make these above-mentioned calculations, we will use AutoTrader's Car Finance Calculator that allows you to fill in the necessary details (see below), to get the magic number.
Here's what it looks like, based on April 2023 pricing (but please note that car prices are prone to increases, so please check on the Nissan SA website for the latest prices.)

All calculations made on this calculator are to be used as guidelines only. It is based on the information you have provided and does not take into account monthly expenses and other factors that need consideration when purchasing a vehicle. Amounts displayed here should not be relied upon solely in making your purchase. Please note that by default this calculator uses the prime interest rate + 2% and a 72-month loan repayment term to calculate estimated monthly repayment.
So, let's get to it!
Assuming an estimated interest rate of 13.23% with no deposit and a 72-month repayment period, here's a breakdown of the monthly repayments for each model of the Nissan Qashqai:
- The Nissan Qashqai 1.3T Visia, priced at R568 200, would cost +/-R11,481 per month.
- The Nissan Qashqai 1.3T Acenta, priced at R639 300, would result in monthly repayments of around R12,918.
- The Nissan Qashqai 1.3T Acenta Plus, priced at R670 600, would be around R13,550.
For the next round of 'How much will a new Qashqai cost me per month?', we've decided to put down a deposit of 10% but kept the 72-month repayment period, and the interest rate stays the same at 13.23%:

A few points to remember about buying on finance:
When it comes to buying a car, financing has plenty of pros and cons. One advantage of financing is that it enables you to spread out the expense of a car that you would not be able to buy in full at once. However, it also entails paying plenty of interest on the loan, which over time can pile up and raise the total cost by a considerable amount. We recommend that you read Buying a car with cash vs. financing in SA.
Furthermore, taking on debt for a depreciating item like a car can be risky, so you should carefully assess your finances and financing choices before making that choice.
