Ford is one of those companies that offer a wide variety of vehicles at different price points. Competing in the crossover, SUV and bakkie segments, it is no wonder that the American automaker is one of the top-selling brands locally. The products offered by Ford are also very competitively priced as well as specified when compared with some of their closest rivals.
But the question we are focussing on in this article is whether Ford's pricing remains competitive should you have to replace components due to damage or a collision. To answer this we draw on information found inside the 2020 AA Kinsey Report which can be found here.

Verdict
It quickly becomes clear that Ford, in most areas, is offering much cheaper replacement components for the Fiesta model than Volkswagen does for the Polo. However, the Chinese Haval H2 seems to be cheaper to repair than the competitively priced EcoSport but not by much.
But when we take a closer look at the list of components for the Ford Ranger and Isuzu D-Max, the Ranger quickly shows its affordability. This is most likely due to the Ford Ranger being produced locally. Thus if future repair costs of your bakkie are of great concern, then the Ranger is the choice for you, at least between these two examples. Ultimately, it seems that Ford vehicles are affordable to repair, at least in their relative segments.
