7 extras you should fit on a new Mercedes-AMG GLC

The Mercedes-AMG GLC is the German luxury automakers answer to the likes of the BMW X3M and the Audi SQ5 as well as the Jaguar F-Pace SVR. It is a compact sports SUV with monumental power. The GLC 63S features a powerful bi-turbocharged V8 however not everyone desires a big engine. It is for this reason that Mercedes-AMG also offers a smaller V6 alternative in the form of the GLC 43, which is equally as impressive in its own right.

The optional boxes you should tick

For this article we are going to look at the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63: R 1 718 480 - Total Price (incl. VAT incl. CO₂ Tax).

 

• The looks: The vehicle comes a standard with a sporty AMG body kit which provides the visual appeal as well as a muscular presence that one would expect from an AMG. 20" AMG 5-twin-spoke alloy wheels come as standard however for an extra R45 200 you can get the popular 21" AMG 5T-spoke alloy wheels in black.

 

• The colour: While black and Polar white come at no extra cost, ticking the box for the Mojave silver metallic at a cost of R5 500 is well worth it.

 

• Interior: AMG Nappa leather two-tone magma grey with black comes at no extra cost, as do all the other interior upholstery options. That said though, the AMG carbon-fibre trim does cost R16 200 which is also a must-have item on an AMG vehicle as the standard gloss black trim elements can be found on normal GLC models.
• AMG performance exhaust system: Yes, it does cost R23 900 but it is one of the most important options that one can fit. It adds the bark to the bite and it will most definitely improve the value of your car.  

 

 

Safety Equipment:

• Distronic Plus and Pre-safe systems: Essentially providing autonomous cruise control and predictive technology that will have the car apply the brakes should it predict a collision, this option costs R27 400.

 

• Blind Spot and Active lane keep assist: This package warns the driver of vehicles in their blind spot and can even warn when a vehicle is approaching when opening a door in a parking area. The lane-keep assist helps keep the vehicle in the lane on the road preventing lane wandering. This package costs R12 600.

 

• Keyless go: This feature lets you enter the vehicle without having to press the unlock button on your key fob and it also lets you start the vehicle without the need to insert the key. It is, however, a R9 400 option.

Verdict

After the above-mentioned options have been added to the standard price of R1 718 480 for the Mercedes-AMG GLC the price increases to around R1 847 880.
