The Allspace is a Tiguan in seven-seater guise with a few added extras, and while the new Tiguan has already launched locally, the enhanced Allspace is expected in SA in 2022.
The Tiguan Allspace is available in three trim levels and each variant comes with its own set of comfort and safety features. R-Line trim can be added to all but the Trendline model for athletic looks, and the package includes lowered suspension. All-wheel-drive 4MOTION models have additional off-road settings for those who like to go off the beaten path.
The Tiguan Allspace Trendline is equipped with the following as standard:
- LED daytime running lights
- Light and Visibility Package (Auto dimming mirror, rain sensor and auto headlight control and High Beam Assist)
- Chrome trapezoidal panels for exhaust system tailpipes
- Front underbody protection in granite grey
- Privacy glass on rear and side windows
- Composition Colour infotainment system
The Comfortline has the following additional equipment:
- Electrically opening and closing tailgate
- Front and rear parking sensors
- LED headlights with dynamic cornering lights
- Hill Descent Assist
- Composition Colour Infotainment system
Highline models are further endowed with:
- Keyless Access (locking and starting system)
- Easy Open sensor controlled boot opener
- Composition Media system with optional Discover Pro Satnav
- App-Connect and Voice Control (this enables Android Auto/Apple CarPlay functionality; it is an option on Trendline and Comfortline models)
Optional safety features
If you have money to spend, the fully digital Active Info Display and Head-Up Display, ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) with Front Assist and City Emergency Braking abilities are worthwhile safety luxuries. Trailer Assist including Park Assist and a rear/surround view camera are also available as an option on all models.
Safety features standard across the board
All models in the Allspace range have ABS, EBD, brake assist, cruise control, traction and stability control, an electromechanical parking brake, a tyre pressure monitor, six airbags, multi-function steering wheel controls, child locks, rain-sensing windscreen wipers, high-beam assist, ISOFIX anchorage points, and front fog lamps.
The Tiguan Allspace received a five-star safety rating from EuroNCAP.
