If you own a Hilux, mark Wednesday, 13 May 2026, in your calendar. Toyota is planning a massive show of force at NAMPO Park, aiming to set multiple Guinness World Records™ by gathering thousands of Hilux bakkies in one place. Whether you’re driving a pristine 1969 first-gen or a kitted-out Legend 55, Toyota wants your bakkie in the southern parking area (Gate 1) to make history.

Win a 9th-gen Hilux

Toyota is sweetening the deal with a prize that’ll have every bakkie fan scrambling for a spot. Registered participants who complete every record attempt stand a chance to win:

  • The next-gen Hilux Xtra Cab: A yet-to-be-released model from the brand-new 9th-generation lineup.

  • A Year of cover: 12 months of complimentary insurance via Toyota Insurance (TIMSA).

  • R30 000 in gear: A massive accessory voucher sponsored by TSAM to kitting out the new ride.

Who can join?

The short answer: If it says Hilux on the tailgate, you’re invited. Single Cabs, Xtra Cabs, and Double Cabs are all welcome, regardless of mileage or year. The only rules of engagement are that the vehicle must be roadworthy and entry is limited to two occupants per vehicle.

Toyota fest

While the world record is the main event, TSAM is turning NAMPO Park into a full-scale Toyota festival. Here’s what’s on the menu:

  • Sub-brand showcases: Explore the latest from Lexus, Hino, and the high-performance GR division.

  • The merch store: Grab gear from the Land Cruiser and Hilux collections.

  • Family fun: Live entertainment, spot prizes, and interactive activations from Toyota Financial Services.

How to register

Space at NAMPO is legendary, but it’s not infinite. Demand is expected to be sky-high, so you’ll want to get your name on the list early.
