The third generation of SsangYong’s Korando SUV was introduced locally in 2011 and was sold for a few years before the brand ceased the sale of new products locally. We take a look at 3 accessories that you can fit to a Korando that will enhance its capability and in-car technology.
An often-forgotten brand, SsangYong first reached local shores near the turn of the millennium with SUVs that famously featured a ‘Powered by Mercedes-Benz’ sticker on the rear window. Fast forward a decade or so and the brand introduced a new Korando to the South African market.
The new model was a dramatic departure in terms of its exterior design and interior packaging, with a more European look thanks to Italdesign, who were tasked with its design. The Korando was sold with an in-house developed 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine paired with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox and either front or four-wheel drive.
