Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. set to return to SA

After a six-year hiatus, Tata will once again be present in the South African market with promises of new cars and SUVs.

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd, or TMPV, has announced its return to the South African market. The brand's official launch will take place on 19 August, and we can expect more details about which models the brand will release. However, the Indian automaker has a portfolio ranging from compact hatchbacks to SUVs.

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd and Motus Holdings Ltd Partnership

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd has appointed Motus Holdings Ltd as its exclusive distributor of its passenger vehicles. The international automotive group features an extensive dealership network spread over South Africa; however, the number of dealerships that will carry the Tata moniker remains unknown.

Tata models coming to SA

While the exact models that will be arriving locally remain unspecified, at the time of writing this article, a variety of rather attractive models are seen internationally, such as the Tata Safari, Curvv, Harrier, and Nexon. 

The Indian automaker has also been focusing on producing safer vehicles, with all its cars achieving 4 and 5 stars in the GNCAP and BNCAP assessment programs.
