The Renault Captur features the touchscreen multimedia tablet. With this, you can explore a range of functionalities with ease. These include integrated navigation, multimedia, radio and telephone system with Bluetooth® connectivity.
Available for Blaze models is the Connect R&Go radio which ticks the boxes for basic spec. It comes with steering wheel controls, two USB ports, Bluetooth® for music streaming and hands-free calls, a smartphone mount and free R&Go application. Renault’s R&Go app allows you to control the stereo from your phone and allows you to view driving data information. Satellite navigation isn’t included here, but with the smartphone mount, you can safely use your phone’s navigation system.
Available for Dymanique models is the MediaNav® multimedia system that features a 7.0-inch colour touchscreen, a navigation system, 4 x 20W radio, audio streaming and Bluetooth® hands-free telephony, USB and jack sockets. It's said to be not a great system and has "bizarrely small ‘buttons’ hidden in the corners of the screen and infuriating bings and bongs".
Highlights of MediaNav® include:
1. With just one touch, you can customise the 2D or 3D Birdview map display and activate voice guidance.
2. MediaNav® comes with the touchscreen Nav N Go navigation system as standard. Simple and intuitive whether you are entering an address or updating maps on the Official Navigation Map Update Website.

4. Use Bluetooth® technology to make and receive calls hands-free, consult your phone book and look up your call history.
Hyundai Kona - 4.5/5
The latest compact SUV in Hyundai's range, the Kona, is fitted with their latest offering which features a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Chad Lückhoff said it pleasantly surprised him and here's what he had to say about his interaction with it:
"With a resoundingly similar look and feel to the KIA units (as is to be expected), the unit offers a tiled home screen layout with simple, easy to understand sub-menu progression. The unit supports USB, Aux and Bluetooth input for audio streaming and hands-free telephony but is devoid of a CD slot. It carries full tethered functionality for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto screen mirroring.
Tactile buttons and rotary knobs flank the sides of the touchscreen for shortcuts and the most frequently used functions such as volume/power and tuning/scrolling. The addition of a customisable shortcut button allows you to access your favourite function with a single press. Steering wheel controls offer the usual fare of mode, volume, track/station and voice command."
Opel Crossland X - 3.5/5
The Opel Crossland X’s interior is said to be less stylish than that of a Peugeot 2008. Despite average build quality and some low-quality materials around the centre console, most of its buttons were positioned intuitively which makes them easy to find.
The Crossland X features the Radio R 4.0 IntelliLink infotainment system on Enjoy models. This 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system comes standard with DAB radio, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It’s said to be "bright, crisp and responsive to touch, making it one of the better systems available in small SUVs". There are also 2 USB ports in front which mean you can use one to mirror your phone and the other for charging another device. Additionally, the front and rear get 12V outlets.
Highlights of Radio R 4.0 IntelliLink include:
1. Music playback via Bluetooth®, USB and Apple Carplay
2. Standard AM/FM Radio or optional DAB radio
3. Film and picture viewer via USB
4. Hands-free calling via Bluetooth®
The higher Cosmo trim model can be had with a better system called touchscreen Navi 5.0 IntelliLink with voice control. It's the same system but includes sat-nav and an easy-to-follow 3.5-inch driver info display between the dials.
