The Omoda brand is the modern and fashionable arm of the Chery brand. Their C5 model is the first to hit South African shores and showcase what the OMODA brand is capable of. My colleague Chad Lückhoff had the C5 on test and you can read his thoughts here.

What stands out the most about the Omoda C5 is its styling. This is Omoda's "Art In Motion" design language. Which consists of an even flow of curves and sharp lines all nestled in a pronounced silhouette, akin to how a Range Rover looks interestingly. The modern design spreads to the interior, too, with a collection of touch-sensitive screens in a flowing dashboard complete with a 64-colour ambient mood lighting system. The Omoda C5 is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine pushing out 115 kW and 230 Nm through a CVT transmission to the front wheels. With that, you get a claimed fuel consumption of 6.9l /100km. If you're sold on an Omoda C5 after reading this article, you can search AutoTrader for the latest used and new offerings.
