Ford, today, unveiled the brand new next-generation Everest and it comes as no surprise that this is a completely new vehicle from the ground up. Sporting new bodywork, mechanicals, and a new model grade, Everest is the culmination of a global effort to give their customers what they not only want but may need in the future.

The new Everest is going to be available in three grades, namely, Sport, Titanium, and the brand new Platinum, and now we get to take a closer look at what Ford will be offering in their new Everest.
Exterior
The new Everest gets an increased wheelbase with designers moving the front wheels forward and making the track 50mm wider. The rear end gets reshaped with angled rear glass and a solid rear brake light bar. The side profile is now more aggressive with a bold hip line and optional roof rails that can hold up to 350kg. The front end has been completely redesigned with the now-signature LED C-clamp headlights, chunky reverse grille with chunky centre bar and a range of exciting new colours and wheel options
Interior
The interior of the new Everest has also been completely reworked with a compliment of soft-touch surfaces and full leather upholstery. The refit leads to very low NVH levels and a bold new styling language. The dashboard becomes the centre of attention with a large vertical infotainment screen that controls all the aspects of the space while a reorganisation of space leads to a much more comfortable seating arrangement and easier third-row access, the third row still folds flat into the floor to ensure that you get the maximum from the larger rear luggage space that has been increased,
Tech
Ford has upped the tech on offer in eth new Everest, starting with a more integrated Ford Pass app smartphone control that seamlessly connects you to your car and ownership experience. The above-mentioned 12-inch infotainment screen gets Ford SYNC 4, and the driver is treated to a brand new digital instrument cluster. Passengers get multiple charging ports and in-car connectivity while the vehicle will feature a new Terrain Management System and 360-degree zone lighting that can light up the area around the vehicle for camping
Safety
Ford has once again upped the levels of safety on offer. Active safety features such as BSM (Blind Spot Monitoring), trailer coverage, trailer brake, LKS (Lane Keeping Assist), Adaptive Cruise Control, Park Assist, Collision Avoidance Assistance, Evasive Steering and Rear Cross Traffic Alert will all be in play and in a segment-first you can have to up to 9 airbags inside to protect everyone.
Powertrain
The big news here is that Ford will now offer the 3l turbo V6 diesel as well as the 2.0 bi-turbo and 2.3 Ecoboost engines in the model lineup. Buyers will have the choice of a 6-speed manual or 10-speed auto transmission, which will allow Everest to tow 3.5-tons in capacity. As far as the control systems are concerned you can still have the shift on the fly AWD, but Ford has introduced a 2-speed permanent 4WD transfer case with TMS (Terrain Management System) modes. You still get the electronic diff lock and Watts link rear suspension riding on coils and coupled with the wider track width you now get less body roll and better ride comfort.
Soon Soon
The new Everest is going to be built alongside many of the next-gen vehicles in Thailand and as knockdown construction in a few smaller markets and we should see global rollout towards the end of the year, locally we can only assume our timing will be similar and you can start placing your orders with your Ford dealer closer to that time. Further details will be released as the year goes on, so stay tuned to AutoTrdaerSA for further developments.
