More affordable GWM Tank 300 launched

GWM South Africa has introduced a 2WD entry-level Tank 300. Here's what you need to know about it.

Drivetrain

The Tank 300 Diesel 2WD is powered by a 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine that delivers 135kW and 480Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to the rear wheels and features an electronic rear diff lock. The claimed fuel consumption is 7.7 L/100 km, and the braked towing capacity is 3 000kg, the same as the 4WD model.

Features

The 2WD Luxury-sped model features synthetic leather upholstery, electrically adjustable front seats, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 9-speaker sound system, and a second 12.3-inch digital driver display. Automatic LED headlights and "follow-me-home" functionality are also standard.

The model boasts a 5-star ANCAP rating. Its safety suite includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, 360-degree cameras, and multiple airbags.
