When test driving the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, take note of the helpful driver assist systems when you're out on the road. The standard stability control not only helps to keep you stable during ordinary driving but also adapts the Pajero Sport to different terrains. 2. Impressive gearbox
For good measure, Mitsubishi has thrown two additional cogs into the familiar 6-speed automatic gearbox. Martin Pretorius, an AutoTrader Writer, has explained that this has resulted in an extremely wide ratio spread, with a very short first gear allowing for a quick getaway, a very tall top gear for relaxed cruising, and another six ratios in between to suit absolutely any driving condition.
The gearbox programming is said to be smooth at selecting the appropriate gear and shuffles unobtrusively through its selections with neither a jerk nor hesitation, assuring a sound compromise between performance and economy. Pretorius says it's thoughtful of Mitsubishi to add shift paddles (standard) but there is seldom any need to intervene in its operation.

3. Additional safety and towing mass
If you're still deciding between and a new or used Pajero Sport on the dealership floor, then the additional safety features and increased towing mass may sway you. In September 2018, Mitsubishi Motors SA upgraded the Pajero Sport to include ISOFIX child seat anchor points for babies and toddlers, so family-oriented buyers will want to check this out. In addition to the child seat safety, a seventh airbag for the protection of the driver’s knees in the case of an accident was also added.
