Mahindra invited us to the 2025 Nampo Harvest Festival outside Bothaville in the Free State. We grabbed the keys to a Mahindra XUV 3XO in AX7L guise and hit the road from Johannesburg for the day. Upon arrival, we saw a variety of models on offer from the automaker, with one drawing a lot of attention with its exterior and interior design elements.

There is a lane named after Mahindra, and the Indian automaker has a central location in the festival, too. This year, however, the Mahindra stand features a permanent structure as part of its commitment to the event. The stand is divided into two main areas. In one, you will find Mahindra SUVs, bakkies, and cars, and in the other, you will see the extensive range of tractors and equipment available from Mahindra.

If you didn't know, Mahindra also manufactures tractors and accompanying equipment, which makes the brand a hit globally and locally in the agricultural sector. Mahindra is the world's largest manufacturer of tractors by volume.

What can you expect to see when visiting the Mahindra stand at the 58th Nampo Harvest Festival? If you are in the market for an SUV, perhaps the XUV 700 Black Edition might suit your liking. The model offers an all-black leather interior, blacked-out chrome trim, large gloss black alloy wheels, special decals, and other unique features.

What would an automotive stand be at an agricultural event without a few bakkies? The stand also featured a variety of attractive Pik Up models, showcasing the modifications you can expect to find on Karoo variants and some with accessories directly available from Mahindra themselves.

Thula Sindi, a local fashion designer who has shown his collections in many countries worldwide and was crowned South African Designer of the Year 2012 by SA Tourism, collaborated with Mahindra to create a special edition model. The concept of the Thula Sindi XUV 3XO was first shown at the Mahindra Fusion Fest which was attended by nearly 7 000 fans.

The Thula Sindi Edition features custom exterior elements such as stripe decals. But step inside, and you will notice that the front and rear headrests get specially designed covers, following in the designs that have gained the artist and fashion designer his acclaim locally and internationally.
