KIA Soul vs Ford EcoSport vs Nissan Juke: Which one has the lowest running costs?

Between the KIA Soul, Ford EcoSport and Nissan Juke, the Juke has the lowest running costs.

Priced from R267,500, the Ford EcoSport is significantly cheaper to buy when compared to the KIA Soul, which starts at R318,995, and the Nissan Juke which starts at R321,900.

On a previous road trip review, we measured the fuel consumption of the KIA Soul 1.6 DCT on a combined cycle to be around 6.2 - 6.5l/100km, whereas with town driving the fuel consumption would increase to around 7.0l/100km.

On a different cross-country adventure in the automatic 1.0 EcoBoost Titanium we measured a respectable fuel consumption figure in the range of 5.8 – 6l/100km range; this proved to be very advantageous as we found ourselves quite far from civilization, traversing hill and dale, in search of the perfect photo opportunity.

When the Nissan Juke was tested back in 2015, real-world consumption figures displayed fuel consumption of about 6.7 – 7.3 litres per 100 km on a combined cycle.
