Is Land Rover good for families?

The Land Rover nameplate actually goes back further than the late 70's all the way to the late 40's when the marque was established under the Rover company who manufactured the offroad capable machine for the military. These utilitarian vehicles were not great for living with but were excellent at what they were designed to do and that was going anywhere and everywhere.

Fast forward a few decades and we currently have just three model derivatives to choose from if you exclude the more luxury-focused Range Rover models. The Land Rovers of today are a far cry from the tough as nails, bare metal construction of yore but they are no less capable but can you comfortably live with one and still keep your family happy?

Discovery

With a greater emphasis on electronics and technology, the 3 and 4 were incredibly popular vehicles and still are to this day. Now in its fifth generation, but not called the Discovery 5, the latest model showcases the very best that Land Rover has to offer

Defender 90

The 90 model, for those that don't know, is the short wheelbase, 2-door version of the Defender named so because of the customary 90-inch wheelbase

Defender 110

The Defender 110 is the current flagship for those that love the brand and live the lifestyle fully. The debate will still rage as to whether this is a true Landy due to the electronic luxuries but no one can argue that this isn't a capable lifestyle vehicle.

Verdict

With the Land Rover maintaining its offroad chops and now equipped to the rafters with luxury fitment, these vehicles are near perfect for family life.
