The average lifespan of a car battery is between 2 and 3 years, after that the charging system will fail to operate sufficiently, and you will need to replace the battery.

Replacing the battery is relatively simple and can be done right at home with minimal tools required, and we can show you how its done.

You will need:

Replacement battery of correct amperage and size
10mm socket + driver or wrench

Let's get it done

1. Open the bonnet

2. Locate the battery

3. Use the 10mm to remove the negative (-) terminal

4. Use the 10mm to remove the positive (+) terminal

5. Use the 10mm and extension to remove the battery hold down bracket

6. Exchange battery

7. Assemble in reverse order
