GWM launches more affordable P300 LS

GWM South Africa has launched the latest version of its P300 bakkie, the more attainable LS. Here's what you need to know.

This new model replaces the P-Series Black Edition LS, offering a more entry-level version of the brand's latest bakkie.

Drivetrain

The LS gets GWM's 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine with 135 kW and  480 Nm of torque paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. It sports a 3.5-tonne braked towing capacity, double wishbone front suspension, and leaf spring rigid axle suspension at the rear. The 4x4 model also features an electronic rear differential lock.

Exterior

The LS model retains the new front grille, flared wheel arches, and 18-inch alloy wheels. It also has LED headlights and cornering-function fog lamps, roof rails, fixed sidesteps, and an electric-lock tailgate.

Interior

The P300 LS gets a 12.3-inch colour touchscreen infotainment system complete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, voice recognition, and a 7.0-inch digital cluster. There's also wireless charging, multiple USB ports, a leather steering wheel, an interior fragrance system, and a 6-speaker sound system.

Safety 

The P300 LS has electronic stability control, traction control, hill start and downhill assist, trailer sway control, and a reverse camera. There's also ABS and EBD, along with multiple airbags.
