GWM has introduced an expansion of its P-Series bakkie lineup with the introduction of a limited edition flagship model. The brand is targeting daily commuters, families as well as leisure buyers.
Conrad Groenewald, Chief Operations Officer of GWM South Africa, explains, "The LTD is a natural progression for GWM in response to the increasing demand from both business users and private buyers for double cab bakkies. We carefully planned the range to offer the best possible solution across the Pickup user spectrum, and the LTD takes it to a whole new level."

The LTD model occupies a higher position in the P-Series double cab range, positioned above the LS and LT models. It features 18-inch gloss black Sports alloy wheels fitted with all-terrain tires. Additionally, the LTD features body colour-coded door handles and mirrors, a black sports Bar, plastic bedliner, off-road-ready steel front and rear bumpers, and wider wheel arches.
Other additions include black roof rails, a snorkel, a front winch with a maximum pulling capacity of 4.2-tons, a 12-Volt accessory connector in the engine bay, a 120Watt/220V power outlet located next to the rear USB port, and a newly developed four-wheel drive system.
While other P-Series variants are equipped with a torque-on-demand (TOD) four-wheel drive system, the LTD model boasts a fully selectable system with various driving modes, such as 2H, 4H, Snow, Mud, Sand, and 4L. There are also features such as Cross-Country Expert Mode, Drive Mode Memory, and front and rear differential locks.
Powering the flagship GWM P-Series LTD is the same 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine found in its siblings, delivering 120kW and 400Nm. The engine is paired with a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. Safety features include an ABS with EBD, Traction Control, Rollover Mitigation, and a Brake Assist System. The LTD also offers Hill Descent Control, a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and 6 airbags. In terms of infotainment, there is a 7.0-inch touchscreen system with Bluetooth Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, wireless phone charging, and multiple USB ports.

The GWM P-Series LTD Double Cab 4x4 AT is priced at R694 950 and comes standard with a 5-year warranty and service plan.
