Can you tow with a Omoda C5?

We find out if you can tow with your Omoda C5 and what you can expect the maximum capacity to be.

Automotive News1 min read

Omoda, a sister brand to Chery, launched the C5 earlier in 2023. Focused on a more fashionable lifestyle, the C5 utilises a completely different design language to set itself apart from the Chery product line-up. But what if you prefer the styling and tech in the C5 but still want to occasionally tow a trailer, jetski or even boat? We find out.

Remember, before you search for new or used Omoda C5 models on AutoTrader here, you can sell your car quickly and easily with our Instant Offer tool here to help you pay a deposit on the example you find.

Towing with an Omoda C5

While you might struggle to find towing capacity figures on the Omoda website for the C5 model range, we spoke to a sales representative of the brand who confirmed that the Omoda C5 should be capable of towing. The C5, based on a similar platform and motivated by a similar 1.5-litre, turbocharged, 4-cylinder petrol engine as the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro, should be capable of towing the same payload.

According to Chery's figures, the Tiggo 4 Pro can tow 750 kg unbraked and 1 300 kg braked. To avoid foregoing any warranties, consult with your closest OMODA dealer to find out which tow bar manufacturer and fitment centre is approved by the brand.
