Do you require a 7-seater for your daily commuting needs? We look at the Omoda C5 range to find out if the Chinese model will be sufficient.

The Omoda brand only recently entered South Africa with the C5 range. The new model offers quite a striking design and is positioned as a fashionable alternative to the Chery products. Now, while it scores all the points on attractiveness, will it satisfy an owner who needs no less than 7 seats?

Before we go into the details, remember that you can sell your car quickly and easily with our Instant Offer tool here before you start your search for new or used Omoda C5 models on AutoTrader here.

Does the Omoda C5 have 7 seats?

There are no less than five Omoda C5 derivatives, from the Tech variant all the way to the range-topper, Elegance S. Unfortunately, none of these will provide seating for 7. Instead, the C5 range offers five seats in the cabin. Except for the entry-level Tech derivative, customers can expect leather upholstery on the rest of the range.

While the Chinese crossover might not offer 7 seats, it does provide respectable boot space, rated for 378 litres with all the seats occupied or 1075 litres if the second row of seats is folded flat.

Verdict

If you are looking for 7 seats, the Omoda C5 will not be an option. However, we would recommend the Tiggo 8 Pro from the sister brand Chery. Shop for new or used Chery Tiggo 8 Pro models on AutoTrader here.
