BMW X3 boot size

Wondering how much you'll be able to squeeze in the BMW X3's cargo area? Quite a lot, actually...

Automotive News

Families who opt for mid-size SUVs do so because they know that compact SUVs won't fulfil their need for a practical amount of space. The BMW X3 boasts a spacious boot that will be big enough for family-related paraphernalia and more.

The X3 was facelifted recently and Martin Pretorius attended the launch. Read all about the new 2021 BMW X3 here:

How big is the BMW X3's boot?

The latest BMW's boot is 550 litres with all seats in their upright position. For a family with growing children, this is a decently sized cargo area and you will easily be able to load it, thanks to the absence of a lip you have to lift things over, and a wide opening. It is the same size as the Mercedes-Benz GLC and the new Audi Q5.

The BMW X3's rear seats (which can be split 40:20:40) can be folded completely flat to make space for 1600 litres, by pulling the latches by the bootlid. Inside the boot, you will find flip-down shopping hooks on both sides. Underneath the booth floor, there is an additional storage cubby for sizeable soft bags, a small, flattish suitcase, or other loose items you would like to keep away from prying eyes.

With the seats folded flat, you will be able to load a bicycle without having to remove a wheel.
