BMW announces 2024 model lineup for local introduction

In BMW SA's first meeting of the year with the media, the Bavarian-based company announced its local model introduction for the 2024 year. From the stylish urban runabouts from MINI to the brash powerhaus of their sports sedan models and even some local flavour to boot, the Germans are gearing up for a busy year ahead.

Out with the old in with the new

During an informal meet and greet with BMW SA, Autotrader was given a peek behind the curtain, so to speak, of what fans of the Bavarian brand can expect for 2024. After a relatively quite 2023 with very few model or LCI introductions, the new year is poised to bring a host of new and revamped products to our shores.

With just a high-level overview of what we can expect and no promises of arrival times or hints at possible pricing, BMW SA has baited the hook, and now it will be up to local buyers to fight for what's coming. Let's start with the uber-cool urban brand MINI.

Locally produced X3 and a possible introduction of a PHEV version into SA

 

Motorcycle enthusiasts haven't been left out as BMW is also set to launch the 3 new to SA models in rapid succession.

The company says that outside of these models, there will also be a number of lifestyle events and will continue to liaise with the government on furthering the EV mandate for the country so that South Africa can move towards electric vehicle manufacturing and broadening EV sales in the country with legislation. All in all it looks set to be a busy year and we are very much looking forward to it!
