It would appear that 2024 is set to be an exceptionally busy year for automotive brands, with many major players set to launch multiple products! Here's what we know so far!
Aston Martin DB12
Aston Martin has ditched the V12, and in its place, an AMG-sourced V8 now powers the DB12. We saw one in the metal recently, and we look forward to its local launch in the first half of 2024!
Audi
Audi is set to launch special edition variants of various models, including the A3, A4, A5, Q3 and Q5, throughout the year. Some all-electric models are set to launch, including the Q8 e-tron, while mid-life facelifts of the A3, Q7 and Q8 model lines are expected.
BMW
The Bavarian brand is set to launch its X2, a new, locally-produced X3, the latest 5 Series, the updated 3 and 4 Series as well as a very limited number of the highly anticipated M3 Touring models!
BYD
The all-electric Chinese brand launched its Atto earlier this year. Still, with shipment delays, we will likely only see and experience it alongside the brand's second local introduction, the Dolphin, which looks likely to compete for the title of SA's cheapest EV when it arrives.
Chery
Chinese automaker Chery has re-entered the local market with great success as a regular feature in the monthly top ten sales charts. Both the Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro ranges are set to be bolstered by the introduction of plug-in hybrid variants.
Citroen
With the successful introduction of its more budget-friendly C3, the French brand will look to keep up the momentum with an Aircross version of the C3, offering another compact crossover option within the market.
Ferrari
The prancing horse is set to launch an open-top version of its Roma in 2024.
Fiat
Word on the street is that we'll finally get a new Fiat 500 in 2024!
Ford
It would appear that more Ranger models are set to join the local line-up in 2024, with the Tremor and Ranger Platinum leading the charge. There is also the not-so-small-matter of the new Mustang, Mustang Mach-E, the Territory and updated Puma, all of which are expected next year too!
GWM
We attended the Auto Shanhai earlier this year, where we saw the Shanhai Cannon, a larger version of the popular P Series bakkie, which is set to arrive in 2024!
Honda
Honda looks let to launch a new version of its CR-V in 2024!
Hyundai
There have been a few examples of the brand's Ioniq 5 running around locally, meaning a local introduction may be on the cards. What we do know is that the heavily updated Santa Fe, and i20 will be arriving in 2024!
Ineos
We are yet to drive the Grenadier, but 2024 appears to be the year in which both the SUV and double cab offering, named the Quartermaster, will be more available to the public.
Isuzu
We'll see Isuzu launch the popular X-Rider version of its D-Max bakkie!
Jaecoo
As the flagship brand within the Chert stable, Jaecoo is set to launch locally in 2024 with the Jaecoo 7, followed later by the Jaecoo 8.
Jeep
There's an updated Gladiator headed for local shores in 2024, so keep your eyes peeled!
Kia
The year 2024 will be one of updates for Kia, with the refreshed Picanto, updated Sorento and upgraded Seltos!
Lamborghini
There's a new V12 bull destined for local shores in 2024, as we see the introduction of the Revuelto!
Lotus
British sportscar brand Lotus is set to launch the Eletra, a performance SUV, and the four-cylinder version of its Emira.
Maserati
Italian premium brand Maserati will deliver customers the drop-top Cielo versions of its MC20.
Mazda
The Japanese brand will launch a more potent version of its CX-60, complete with a new six-cylinder diesel engine, while introducing more updates to its CX-3 and CX-5 models.
McLaren
The monstrous 750S will be launched in 2024!
Mercedes-Benz
No doubt one of the busiest automakers in 2024 will be Mercedes-Benz, with 13 introductions, including the GLC Coupe, the updated GLS GLE, GLA, GLB, CLA, E-Class and G-Class. More new models from the brand include the CLE, the GT63 SE Performance (Coupe & 4-door), the S 63 SE Performance, GLC 63 S E Performance and the locally produced C 63 S E Performance.
Mercedes-Benz Commercial
It's set to be an exciting year for the commercial division of Mercedes-Benz as it launches a new V-Class, the EQV, the new Vito, eVito and the eSprinter!
Mini
Mini has an exciting year ahead with the introduction of its new Cooper SE EV models and the all-new Countryman!
Mitsubishi
There's a new Mitsubishi Triton headed our way, along with updates to the Outlander, as well as a couple of new models that we will announce closer to the time of release.
Omoda
Another sub-brand under the Chery umbrella, which has found success locally in 2023 is Omoda, and the brand has only just begun its new launch assault, with two models expected next year in the form of the C9 and the E5!
Opel
The German brand will launch an updated version of its Corsa in 2024.
Porsche
Porsche will launch its all-new Panamera locally in 2024, while the new, all-electric Macan and updated 992.2 911 range will likely make an appearance too!
Renault
Fans of the popular Duster model will be excited to hear that a new generation version will arrive in 2023! The hybrid Captur and Arkana are set to be introduced, while updated versions of the Kiger, Triber and Clio are anticipated, too!
Rolls-Royce
At the time of writing, Rolls-Royce had already delivered two units of the all-electric Spectre to local customers, but expect more in 2024!
Suzuki
It is set to be a big 2024 for Suzuki as it will launch a new version of its best-selling car, the Swift!
Tank
As the lifestyle off-road sub-brand within the GWM stable, Tank looks to introduce both its 300 and 500 models in 2024!
Toyota
It will be a blockbuster year for South Africa's best-selling automaker, with the new Land Cruiser 70 Series, the Land Cruiser Prado, Hilux and Fortuner mild hybrid, the Crown and a new variant of the Urban Cruiser all being launched!
Volkswagen
Big news in the Volkswagen camp is the local introduction of the new Tiguan, with facelifted versions of the Touareg and T-Cross imminent too. There is also the possibility of the all-electric ID4 making an appearance.
